At the 2010 World Athletics Gala the winners of the World Athlete of the Year were announced.
David Rudisha of Kenya scooped the male award despite being only 21 years of age. It’s perhaps not surprising given his achievements – he broke the World Record for 800m. Then he broke it again! He’s unbeaten in 12 contests and is the reigning African champion. Absolutley no doubt that he has a glittering future ahead of him
Croatian Blanka Vlasic was a worthy winner of the female title, the high jumper is a double world champion and won seven competitions in the prestigious Diamond League.
David Rudisha (KEN) and Blanka Vlasic (CRO) were named the Male and Female World Athletes of the Year for 2010, IAAF President Lamine Diack announced today.
